You are being asked to research inventions which were developed between the 7th and 16th century. This period of time is known as the Middle Ages and these inventions shaped changes in population and living standards. Research each invention to discover what were the long term consequences of these inventions on ways of life? Each invention is listed below with links to resources on our school databases. Your teacher has provided you with some options for your research. Below, are some starting points, using the digital databases available to us at our school. Don't forget to search our library collection as well, for the school-based resources. Be sure to ask for help if you need it!
Please note, that there are two different ways that centuries may be noted in the articles you read. Years designated with AD refer to Anno Domini, which means "in the year of the lord" in Latin. These are the years from 0 to today and are also referred to as the Common Era and is abbreviated C.E. Any year that occurred before year 0 or the birth of Jesus Christ, is designated at B.C., meaning "before Christ" or B.C.E. meaning "before the common era". In summary A.D. = C.E. = Years 0 to today; B.C. = B.C.E = Years before 0.

Gun powder was used for both peaceful and destructive purposes.
