Population Change & Community Needs - Ms. LeBourdais
Your assignment requires that you seek out sources of data that are credible and unbiased. Wherever you go to seek out data, make sure you ask yourselves why the organization put out the data they are sharing. Some sources are more reliable than others. Because your projects are going to be varied, you may need to consult with Ms. LeBourdais and/or Miss Rimmer to check out some of the sources you may want to use. Below, are some links to places to start looking.
- Statistics Canada Census 2016 Data - Kamloops
- City of Kamloops Open Data Catalogue - This might be quite useful. You can zoom in on an area of the map and then choose the Data tab that will show you the selected data from that particular area of the map.
- TRU's Research Guide for Open Data - most of this is government data.
- TRU LibGuide on Exploring Canadian Census Data - There may be some useful parts here for you, but it comes from more of a historical perspective.
- Statistics Canada - Census results for Thompson-Nicola Regional District
- Venture Kamloops - Data Centre
- KamPlan - Kamloops Official Community Plan - you may be able to find links to data sets in section H - Appendices
- Tourism Kamloops
