Staff
There's nothing we want more than to help you help your students. Come to us if you want to collaborate on a project, want us to take your class for a lesson or few, or if you want to request a resource. We can help you use web tools and show you everything the library has to offer. Not sure about our online resources? Want to learn how to have students submit digital work via a form? All you have to do is ask, and we will do our best to assist.
Presentations
These ready-to-go lessons can be done with your class, with minimal advance planning, provided we are available. With a little lead time, we can tailor the lessons to better suit your class' needs. If you want to collaborate on something new, let us know. |

Supporting Student Inquiry
Points of Inquiry
The BC Teacher-Librarian's Association has developed Points of Inquiry, a document supporting an inquiry approach to learning. The key points in the inquiry cycle are: Connect and Wonder, Investigate, Construct, Express, and Reflect. The document also includes learning outcomes for inquiry based reading and inquiry based learning, organized by each of the points of inquiry. |
Focus on Inquiry
Alberta Education's publication, Focus on Inquiry is another exemplary resource for teachers adopting an inquiry-based approach in their classrooms. The model is visually represented as a circular puzzle made up of pieces of the inquiry process. They include Planning, Retrieving, Processing, Creating, Sharing, and Evaluating, all connected by the central piece, Reflecting on the Process. |
